MXGP Grand Prix of Latvia at “Zelta Zirgs” in Ķegums to be held on 6–7 June 2026
On 6–7 June 2026, the “Zelta Zirgs” motocross track will host the Latvian round of the FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) — one of the largest and most prestigious motorsport events in the region. Over two days, Ķegums will welcome the world’s motocross elite, factory teams, and thousands of fans from Latvia and abroad.
Latvian riders in MXGP and MX2 classes
Latvia will be represented by a strong line-up. Pauls Jonass will compete in the MXGP class, continuing his fight for a top position in the championship standings. Meanwhile, Jānis Mārtiņš and Kārlis Alberts Reišuļi, representing the Yamaha Factory Team, will contest the MX2 class, offering Latvian fans an exciting and highly competitive racing spectacle.
World stars and MXGP rookies in Ķegums
The Latvian round will also feature numerous renowned riders and factory team leaders, including Jeffrey Herlings (Honda), Tim Gajser (Yamaha), Romain Febvre (Kawasaki), as well as Sacha and Lucas Coenen (KTM).
Additional interest is drawn by the 2026 MXGP rookies – Kay de Wolf, Tom Vialle, and Andrea Adamo, who, after achieving success in the MX2 class, will debut in the world’s premier motocross category and begin their battle against the MXGP elite.
EMX125 and EMX250 European Championship rounds
Alongside the MXGP races, Ķegums will also host rounds of the EMX125 and EMX250 European Championships. Latvian fans will closely follow Jēkabs Kubuliņš (Yamaha), regarded as one of the most promising young Latvian motocross talents.
Two-day race programme
The event spans two full days.
– Saturday will feature free practice sessions and qualifying races for MXGP, MX2 and EMX classes, as well as the first EMX125 and EMX250 finals, in which riders will compete for valuable European Championship points.
– Sunday will bring the climax of the event — Grand Prix day, with two finals each for MXGP and MX2, as well as the second EMX125 and EMX250 finals, determining the winners of the Latvian round.

The purchased ticket must be exchanged for a wristband at the ticket exchange point at the entrance to the race track! Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the ticket offices at the competition venue.
By purchasing a ticket, you are warned and agree that filming and photography will take place during the competition and the footage may be used for commercial purposes, including for publication in mass media and social networks.

Spectacular spectators at the competition venue must comply with the restrictions set in Latvia, as well as the rules that the competition organizer may announce before the event, as well as during the event.
Before entering the competition territory, it is mandatory to visit the ticket exchange point.
At the ticket exchange point, you must present:
- entrance ticket;
- for reduced-price or free tickets – the relevant certificate and personal identification document.
If the persons listed below comply with the event’s safety regulations, then free entry to the competition is
- for children under 10 years of age (including those over 10 years of age upon presentation of a valid identification document)
- for Latvian disabled people, upon presentation of a valid disability document at the entrance to the venue
- for citizens of other countries upon presentation of a Group 1 disabled person
