"White Night Stories" NYX TRIOAnete Toča / flute /Tatjana Ostrovska / violin /Ieva Sarja / piano /andAnta Jankovska / sopranoNYX TRIO and Anta Jankovska invite you to the fourth Advent concert on December 18, 2021 at 17.00 at the Mujanu Biedribas nams.
The program will feature both traditional Christmas songs and music by Latvian composers Aivars Kalejs, Rihards Dubra, Jānis Lūsēns, Agneta Volkova (Krilova), Imants Zemzars and Marina Vidmonte. In 2011, flutist Anete Toča, violinist Tatjana Ostrovska and pianist Ieva Sarja formed the chamber music association NYX TRIO. Now it is the tenth year that we have been making music together, staging various chamber music programs and creating multimedia concert programs, actively performing both in Latvia and abroad. During the existence of the ensemble, NYX TRIO has staged a very wide repertoire, playing both the most famous opuses of Western European composers and Latvian composers for flute, violin and piano. NYX TRIO is also actively looking for rarities every year, paying special attention, of course, to less frequently played or even forgotten compositions by Latvian composers. It is significant that the existence of NYX TRIO began with the first dedication - in 2011 the composer Andris Vecumnieks reworked his studio composition and it became Variations NYX, which premiered in 2012 in the Great Guild of Münster within the framework of the contemporary culture forum "Baltās Naktis".This was followed by excellent collaboration with such composers as Aivars Kalējs, Imants Zemzaris, Jēkabs Nīmanis, Marina Vidmonte, as a result of which the repertoire of this relatively non-traditional ensemble has already significantly increased.
Last year, five more new works were dedicated to the NYX TRIO. R.Dubra's Les passions d'hiver and A.Raumanis “Closed Yard”, based on P.Bankovskis' story, premiered on August 1, 2020 in Madona at the 23rd Latvian Music Festival, but J.Lūsēns Arkādija, A.Krilova “Petals’ waltz” and “Thoughts at night” ofyoung composer M. Vērmane, which experienced its premiere on July 28, 2021, Limbaži St. St. John's Church, where NYX TRIO started a series of anniversary concerts. In the second half of last year, at a time when cultural life was almost at a standstill, NYX TRIO dedicated its efforts to staging the NYX TRIO program and recording it on the 1st studio of Latvian Radio. The presentation of the disc is scheduled for the birthday of NYX TRIO on December 20, in the choir of the National Library of Latvia.
