With his unique technic and ability to addapt Roberts Martinovskis plays in viarety of music genres and music groups. Tenor saxophonist at Orchestra RIGA, Jelgava Bigband and a recent member of a saxophone quartet ATOMOS and many others. Roberts Also is a Head of Contemporary Rhythm Music department at Bolderāja Music and art school.
Born in Ventspils, Latvia in 1992, where he started playing piano at age 7. Although he listened to a range of music as a kid, by his late teens he was a dedicated jazz student and switched to saxophone. After high school he honed his skills at Jāzeps Vītols Academy of Music, where he mentored with Gints Pabērzs, Kārlis Vanags, Andrejs Jevsjukovs, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Raul Sööt and in Germany at Nuremberg High school of Music, where he mentored with Klaus Graf, Steffen Schorn and Stefan Karl Schmid.
